DYNATEK DYNA-S Electronic Ignition
The Dyna S, is a complete self-contained electronic
ignition system built with the latest state-of-the-art engineering. This
is the same ignition used by top racers over the past 2 decades. The
Dyna S is completely housed behind the ignition cover and uses a
magnetic rotor with the original spark advancer, so the factory advance
curve is maintained. Replaces the stock contact breaker points and
plate. No more replacing or adjusting points at every tune up. Just
install and set the timing. This system does not use or require an
ignitor. 3-Ohm or greater coils are required, see
ignition coils.
Dyna S Advance Unit & Rotor
1 year factory warranty - for Kawasaki Z1 KZ900 KZ1000
KZ1100 - set and forget - no more messing with points... creates a
stronger more consistent spark
If you have a 73 Z1 or an early 74 Z1A, we may need to supply a
different crank rotor. Up through engine number Z1F-32817 kawasaki
installed a 5/40 degree mechanical advancer (normal fire mark is 5
degrees then advancing to 40 degrees). If you have one of these on your
engine, please enter a note in the special instructions to replace the
standard rotor (3 rotor) in the Dyna-S with one special for these early
bikes (3A rotor). As many advancers have been swapped from bike to bike, please check
before ordering.
The first picture is the early Z1 advancer - note how close the F mark
is to the TDC mark.
This second picture shows the advancers run from mid-1974 through into
the KZ1000 models.
